On January 29th, Yanlai Dance Academy had a performance as a part of Pittsburgh’s Chinese New Year festival. This was through the Pittsburgh Chinese Cultural center. There were many different performances that night, including dance, choirs, bands, and even a drum line.
I felt honored to be a part of this performance for Chinese New Year. We welcomed in the Year of the Tiger with a show that lasted well into the night. We were pleasantly surprised that seats filled up and audience members were enthused with the show.
This show was extra special, because it was our first performance sense the pandemic. Yanlai Dance Academy had not performed in over two years, and it felt great to be back on the stage again. As you can imagine, it is difficult to coordinate shows right after the pandemic, but everything came together beautifully. Here are more photos of our show from that night.
